Another rider has confirmed their participation in the 2017 TransWorld Motocross SLAM Pro Race. Tallon LaFountaine will line up against the field of competitors on a KTM 450 SX-F in hopes of claiming top honors. The California local has lined up for professional races around North America, including the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Series and the Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals in Canada. Will past experience at the SLAM be the advantage LaFountaine needs to take the win?
There are a few key changes to this year's running of the exciting pro race, with the most important being the doubling of the purse to $10,000! In addition to this, racers will compete on Milestone’s main MX track (not Supercross) in two five-lap sprint motos. A special, pro-only section will be incorporated for the SLAM Pro race. The race is open to all professional racers who would like to enter. A timed practice session at the start of the event will serve as a qualifier for the top-10 fastest riders, who will fill the starting gate in the two championship motos. A traditional scoring system will be used to determine overall finishing positions after the two motos. First place will take home $5000 and the highly coveted TransWorld SLAM Champion Belt. Second place will earn $3000, and the third and final podium position will go home with an impressive $2000.
Tallon LaFountaine’s effort is backed by Twisted Development, Yoshimura, Hinson, Race Tech, PJ1, SDG Innovations, BTO Sports, ODI, DT1, Fox Racing, 6D Helmets, Mobius Braces, SCOTT, and Toyota of Redland.
