In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
The 2017 outdoor motocross championship is in full swing right now, as round one of the 12 stop series wrapped up just last weekend at Hangtown. Much of the post-race talk has revolved around the dominant performances of Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac and Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna’s Zach Osborne, and for good reason since both riders logged a clean sweep in their respected classes. You can’t forget about the rest of their competition, though, because the top ten riders in each class are more than capable of taking a moto win or even an overall.
Take Jason Anderson for example. Although the #21 sustained an injury to his face after a rock hit him just above his eye lid and was forced to withdraw from the racing at Hangtown, he’s still considered to be one of the premier class favorites that has the potential to dethrone the speedy Eli Tomac. Last season – before succumbing to altitude sickness – Anderson was a consistent competitor finishing inside the top five several times including a career-best second overall at High Point, so he’s proven that he has what it takes to run up front.
The 2017 championship is just starting to heat, so let’s see what happens this weekend at Glen Helen Raceway!
