Troy Lee Designs/GoPro/Red Bull/KTM have announced Alex Martin will miss the upcoming 2017 Washougal MX, round nine of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Per the press release, Martin suffered an injury to his scapula and collarbone in a crash while practicing in Florida on Tuesday. There is little information in regards to the extent of the injury, but does state that Martin will seek a second opinion for a timeline.

Martin is currently ranked second overall in the 250 class of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and has claimed a number of wins and podium finishes through the summer months. This is a blow to the TLD KTM team as well, because team members Jordon Smith and Mitchell Oldenburg are currently sidelined with injuries of their own.

Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Alex Martin injured his collarbone and scapula after going down while practicing in Florida on Tuesday. He will miss this weekend’s round at Washougal MX Park and will undergo further evaluation from a second doctor to find out his return timeline. Martin had recently been on a podium streak and was running second in the 250 Class point’s standings.
