2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship | Summer Ahead | Transworld Motocross
In just a few short weeks, the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will kick off a summer-long run around the United States. Riders will compete in twenty-four grueling motos at venues from California to Maryland and back as they battle each other and themselves for the 250 class and 450 class titles. Anything can happen during that long run from May to August, as we’ve seen so many times before, and this year’s looks like it could be one of the best yet.
This will be a very interesting season solely based on the fact that both reigning champions from 2016, Cooper Webb in the 250 class and Ken Roczen in the 450 class, will not be able to defend their titles. Webb has moved up to the premier division for 2017 and beyond, while Roczen works to overcome a serious and near career-threatening injury from early this year. Who will step up and take the number one plates? Well, we’re going to have to watch and see, but there are plenty of possible candidates.
