At a mean elevation of 6,800 feet above sea level, Denver, Colorado, is affectionately known as the Mile High City. Lakewood, site of Thunder Valley Raceway, is only seven miles away, and it’s a known fact that the motorcycles do not run as well at altitude. Mechanics make many changes to the machines to squeeze as much power as possible out of the race bikes, so we decided to ask some of the racers if they do anything differently in the days leading up to the Colorado National to prepare for the altitude that their bodies must perform at.
