The 2017 EnduroGP World Championship rolled into Hungary for round four of the series over the weekend where Frenchman Christophe Nambotin (KTM) claimed the top step of the EnduroGP podium on both days. In the Enduro 2 class top honors were split between series leader Josep Garcia (KTM) and Jamie McCanney (Yamaha). Britain’s Brad Freeman (Beta) claimed a double Enduro Junior class win while Germany’s Maria Franke (KTM) and Laia Sanz (KTM) took a win a piece in the Woman’s class.

Delivering one of his best performances from the last few years, there was no stopping Nambotin on day one as the former Enduro 3 World Champion earned himself a comfortable EnduroGP class win head of series leader Steve Holcombe (Beta) with Loic Larrieu (Yamaha) third.

Although not as dominant as on day one, Nambotin again won on day two and in doing so completed the perfect weekend aboard his 300cc two-stroke KTM. Nambotin’s team-mate Nathan Watson (KTM) and Larrieu rounded out the podium on day two with Holcombe fourth.

Despite numerous falls on day one Josep Garcia claimed yet another Enduro2 class win. Battling throughout the day with Eero Remes (TM) and Jamie McCanney, Garcia emerged from the day’s final special test to win. Again. Day two wasn’t his day. It was Jamie McCanney’s as the younger McCanney brother finally stepped onto the top of the podium. Garcia wasn’t far behind, but importantly for McCanney he was behind. Remes was again third.

Brad Freeman again showed himself as an up-and-coming talent, topping both days in the junior class to make significant inroads in the series standings. Sweden’s Mikael Persson was another who was fast and pushed Freeman hard on day two, but not quite hard enough.
