The Mini Major at Milestone MX in Riverside, CA has become a premier event for Transworld Motocross.  What started as a concept to invite only kid racers has turned into an international draw for amateur motocross racers everywhere.  The result is that Mini Major is the largest mini only race in the world!  Mini Major rider Styles Robertson even got the opportunity to grace the cover of Transworld Motocross Magazine after winning a title in the Supermini class.

SEVEN has come on board as the presenting sponsor of this years event and brought with them a powerhouse of brands who will activate and support racers during the race weekend.  BTO Sports, IRC Tires, 6D Helmets, 100%, MX vs ATV and Temecula Motorsports will all be attending this unique event.

There are a couple of key factors we are going to share with you in this post.  It’s not the end all be all but some important info that you will need to know being that we are only two weeks away.

THE BASICS:  Thursday November 2nd – Pull in day and practice for racers only.  Gates will open at 9am Thursday morning for pull in and parking.  Practice will be from 12:00 noon to 4:30pm.  The schedule for Mini Majors this year has been extended due to classes filling up.  We also added more 50cc classes this year so Friday, Saturday and Sunday will each go through the race schedule once starting at 8am and likely going through to 3pm.  We will be providing sight laps throughout the day for riders in up-coming classes to see how the track is developing. 50cc riders will get one mechanics wrist band to gain restricted access on the track.  No spectators will be allowed on the track.

  • Track Fee to Milestone MX – 4 day pass for each person is $35 and includes Thursday afternoon practice. 5 yrs old and under are free.  Friday – Sunday Pass is $30, Saturday and Sunday Pass is $20.  There are no one day passes except on the final day which will be $10.
  • Overnight parking pass for Thursday – Sunday is $50.  Friday – Sunday is $35.

PRE REGISTRATION:  Possibly the greatest reason to pre register is that you save money on every class you enter.  Race day registration increases by $5 per class. Even better is BTO Sports will email you a gift certificate for $25 off any purchase with your registration confirmation. Gate picks are chosen off the order of registration, and this year we expect multiple classes to sell out!  Don’t miss out on getting in the class you want.  CLICK HERE and pre register today.

OVERNIGHT PARKING: Everyone is welcome to bring their RV’s and spend the weekend at Milestone MX.  There will be no sell out of spaces like the SLAM Fest and we will be creating additional parking on the PeeWee and Beginner track areas to accommodate everyone.  We will be parking each camper with some common sense to preserve space overall.  Milestone is currently looking at laying out some VIP style spaces that may be pre-sold starting next week. For the general overnight parking there will assigned spots once you pull in the gate on a first come first serve basis.  Thursday – Sunday will cost $50 and there are no hookups.  We will however be bringing in a pump service to empty tanks and they will provide this service each morning for $40 a day.

PROTESTS: Should you feel that someone has a cheater bike motor you will have the opportunity to protest their machine on Sunday.  This is a difficult process for all parties but one that is necessary due to the ease of use of aftermarket parts and accessories that expand the CC’s of a motor.  Temecula Motorsports will perform any engine breakdown and CC verification. The Protestor must provide a non refundable $200 payment at the time of protest for any breakdown to occur.  If a bike is in violation the rider will be disqualified from all race results on the weekend in that class or any class that the bike was ridden in.  We encourage everyone to review the class specifications carefully on the pre registration page.  There is no reason why you would be caught unaware of the requirements.

ACTIVITIES: Thanks to our sponsors and vendors we will have some awesome activities in the pits.  Everything will be surrounding the epicenter on the weekend in the SEVEN Athlete Zone.  Chipotle, Motocutz, C84, EVS, ODI, The W Training Facility, Stacyc, S&M Bicycles, Ryno Power, Team Green, Ethika, Spectro Oils, SPY, Fit Bicycles and more will be on hand along with the sponsors.  The BMX Pump Track at Milestone is currently getting expanded into an even longer lap for everyone to enjoy while not racing.  Final details on the Serpentine Turn Track Challenge are in the works as well as the Forum on Facebook live to be held in the barn next to MX Pro Parts Friday night.

This should get you through this weekend!  We will have more details coming out next week as things get closer.  We look forward to another record setting event and are putting a ton of effort back into the race to make it even more special.  See you at the Mini Major!
