While at Milestone MX Park on Wednesday afternoon, we watched Dakota Alix as he clicked off laps around the public practice track on a Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/WPS/KTM 250 SX-F. When we first talked to Alix at the start of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, he hoped that a solid summer racing a fill-in spot on the team would result in a guaranteed spot for 2018. It turns out that all of this has come to be true, as the team has told us he will remain on the roster in the 250 class in the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
In talking to the team and rider, Alix will spend the next few weeks in California testing, head to his usual practice routine at Millsaps Training Facility in Georgia for his pre-season training, and then return to California just before the start of the race season.
We expect a full press release from the team, which includes Blake Baggett and Benny Bloss as full-time competitors in the 450 class, to come in the next few weeks.
