Put Some Motocross Racer Merchandise Under The Tree This Holiday Season
When I was a little kid (think four to nine years old), my clothing largely consisted of t-shirts of World of Outlaws sprint car drivers. It was standard procedure for my dad to grab a new Steve Kinser/Jac Haudenschild/Sammy Swindell/Doug Wolfgang shirt from the merchandise window of their race rigs and then we’d have it signed minutes later by the driver of choice. For a kid it was great to show off my favorite racer by wearing something that was a part of the “race team,” but now I see how important those shirt sales still are to drivers in dirt track racing.
There’s one very big thing that separates modern motocross from the dirt track bullrings mentioned above: motocross racers are rarely– if ever– allowed to sell their own merchandise out of a trailer or pit stall at a professional race. Now, that’s not to say a fan cannot get an item with their favorite racer at a Supercross or Nationals, because Feld Motorsports and MX Sports have fully stocked rigs on hand at all events, but it’s just not the same as getting something directly from the racer.
Luckily for us, a handful of motocross racers have taken note of the merchandise opportunities that are currently available through online web stores and social media. Their products are often different than what’s offered at the races, be it more subtle and subdued or even more outlandish, and there’s a wide variety of goods to grab. With the holidays on the way, I decided to crawl through the internet and put together links of rider apparel that you can get-give. We’ve made this list as easy as possible by typing a rider’s name and then a direct link to their store, so there should be no real hang-ups.
