During the 450 Main Event at the 2019 Glendale Supercross, round two of the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series, Malcolm Stewart made a mistake while blitzing the whoop section and was sent over the bars of his SmarTop/Bullfrog Spas/MotoConcepts/Honda. The endo and impact with the ground left Stewart on the ground in pain and because he was unable to be safely removed from the track by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical staff, the race was red flagged. Stewart was placed on a backboard and taken out of the stadium to an awaiting ambulance for what appeared to be a leg injury.

We have spoken with Stewart since the crash and he confirmed that he sustained a broken femur and will soon undergo surgery to repair the damage.

This was the first time in Stewart’s career that he had a full-time ride in the 450 class for the Supercross season. Just hours before the Main Event crash, Stewart battled with Marvin Musquin and Cole Seely for the top spot in their Heat Race.

We will update this post with more information as it becomes available…
