2018 Salt Lake City Supercross | Red Rider Race Report | Transworld Motocross

Christian Craig
Christian Craig comes to the final round of the AMA Supercross series with some nice momentum after matching his best result of the year–fourth place–at Salt Lake City last weekend. Team Honda HRC is looking to finish the season out strong in Las Vegas before transitioning to the AMA Pro Motocross series, for which Craig and the squad have been testing in recent weeks.

Jeremy Martin

The final AMA Supercross round is always exciting, but it’s particularly so for the 250SX division, whose East and West regions meet in Las Vegas. The unique format, which was also employed earlier this season in Indianapolis, sees the two regions racing separately in heat races, with the top 11 from each advancing to the main-event Shootout. GEICO Honda will be well represented in both regions, thanks to Jeremy Martin (East) and Chase Sexton (West).

Marc Marquez & Dani Pedrosa
The Repsol Honda Team has returned to Europe, to Southern Spain, for Round 4 of the MotoGP Championship, fresh from Marc Marquez's maiden win of the season in Austin, with which he equalled Mick Doohan (Mugello, 1993-1998) and Casey Stoner (Phillip Island, 2007-2012) with six consecutive premier-class victories at the same circuit. The amazing result allowed Marc to move up the order to second, just one point off the top of the World Championship classification. Dani made his MotoGP debut at Jerez in 2006 with a brilliant second-place finish, and last year he reached a historic landmark in winning the 3,000th Grand Prix race ever held and taking the Repsol Honda Team's 100th victory in the MotoGP class. He will try to make the best of his good feeling with the track to overcome the difficulties of recovering from surgery to his right wrist.

Chris Blose
Just like AMA Supercross, the Arenacross series winds up this weekend in Las Vegas, where the 2018 champion will be crowned. Going in, Rockford Fosgate/TiLube Honda’s Chris Blose is on top, but only by one point over rival Jacob Hayes. Honda fans will be pulling for Blose to finish the job in Sin City.

Cameron Petersen
With the Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda squad having scored its first MotoAmerica Superbike points of the season two weeks ago at Circuit of the Americas, the CBR1000RR SP2-mounted squad approaches this weekend’s Virginia International Raceway stop with positive feelings. Rider Cameron Petersen learned a lot in Texas and is eager to apply those lessons in Virginia.

Kendall Norman
The National Hare & Hound Championship returns to Jericho, Utah’s Little Sahara OHV area for the second time in three weeks, with Red Rider Kendall Norman leading the points chase aboard his CRF450X. Whereas the last event was organized by the Sage Riders MC, this weekend is hosted by the Sugarloafers club, and riders will be looking to leave Utah with some momentum heading into what will be a break of nearly three months.

Trevor Stewart
The AMA District 37 Big6 Grand Prix Series hosts its fifth round of the season–and its last before a pause of five months–this weekend at Primm Casino Resort, on the California-Nevada border. JCR Honda rider Trevor Stewart has been riding well and currently sits third in the WCGP Pro points standings, just five points out of the lead.

Joel Hetrick
The Rockford Fosgate/TiLube Honda project is keeping busy this weekend, with the ATV operation competing in the Crawfordsville, Indiana, round of the ATV MX National Championship while the Arenacross squad is finishing its season in Las Vegas. Ironman Raceway is the site of the ATV race, right in the pocket of a motorsports-mad region of the U.S. Reigning champion Joel Hetrick will be looking to close up the nine-point gap he has to the series leader.

Frankie Stotz
The Honda Stotz Racing team heads to West Salem, Ohio’s Dragway 42 this weekend, with Frankie Stotz having qualified fastest in Pro Street and earned the win at the previous round. This weekend’s venue opened in 1957 but last year saw it reopen following a thorough renovation.
