With the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series quickly approaching, we decided to go back and watch highlights from the Main Events of the 250 and 450 classes as a refresher for the coming season. It’s interesting to see some key moments of the seventeen round series months later, as we know now how things played out, what issues riders were dealing with, the changes that teams made week to week, and which riders came out as champions.

Think about how wild the second round of the series was in Houston when incoming title favorites Eli Tomac and Marvin Musquin both missed the Main Event due to shoulder injuries while Jason Anderson and Ken Roczen diced for the race win, with Anderson coming out on now and never relinquishing the championship lead. Oakland was another thriller due to the late-race duel between Roczen and Anderson that came down to a series of last-lap mistakes. Eli Tomac put in multiple dominant performances through the year, like at Glendale and St. Louis, but his troubles at Anaheim One-Houston-San Diego ended his chances at a championship.

As for the 250 class, there was the bitter rivalry that developed between Austin Forkner and Zach Osborne on the East Coast and was put on display in the run-ins the two had at Atlanta and Daytona. The West Coast was a mix of winners throughout each round, yet Aaron Plessinger managed to put the most consistent finishes together for his first of two championships in 2018.
