Practice Crash Sidelines Aaron Plessinger For 2018 Geneva Supercross
The promoters of the Geneva Supercross taking place this weekend in Switzerland have announced Aaron Plessinger suffered a practice crash last Friday and that Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing rider has been forced to withdraw. The details of the crash were not included in the statement by the event organizers, but we reached out to Plessinger to learn the full extent of the injury.
“A minor back injury that happened a few weeks ago is keeping me off the bike,” Plessinger told us. With the start of the new race season a month away, this is unfortunate timing but Plessinger stated that he is able to maintain a program off of the motorcycle. “I’m going to continue training lightly and it shouldn’t be too long before I’m back on the bike and riding again.”
The Geneva Supercross was going to be the only offseason event for Plessinger on the 450, as he spent the majority of the downtime working with the team to develop the YZ450F to his liking. Plessinger is now set to make his debut with the team at the 2019 Anaheim One Supercross, the start of the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
