Glen Helen Raceway is an incredibly busy place. On any given weekend it can be hosting an REM motocross race on the original Arroyo track, plus another motocross race on the AMA National track, a rally car race in the Lucas Oil truck track parking lot and a Saturday night race on the Stadiumcross track —and that’s just on Saturday.
On Sunday, they can hold an vintage race on the REM track and a Old Timers National on the big track and a side-by-side or truck race on the Truck track. What most people outside of SoCal don’t know is that Glen Helen is a massive place. When they use all the available trails, ridges and hills (and maybe some paved roads) they have been known to come up with 20-minute lap times during the 6-hour, 10-hour and 24-hour endurance races. The track that this video covers is the Prairie Dogs GP, which is part of the Big Six offroad series. Trevor Hunter does the riding and the lap times were over 11 minutes and you’ll be amazed by the variety of ground covered.
