Press Release: After sustaining a shoulder injury during a practice crash on Tuesday, Cooper Webb and the Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing Team decided to test the water at today’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship round in St. Louis. However, after attempting to ride the free practice session, Webb and his team made the decision that he will not compete in tonight’s event, held at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
Cooper Webb, #2: “Unfortunately, I had a practice crash on Tuesday that led to an injury in the shoulder. We came here to St. Louis to see if I could ride and after going down in the free practice today I realized the strength isn’t quite where it needs to be. For my own safety, we felt as a team that it would be better to get my shoulder healed and come back when I’m 100%. We’ve been rehabbing it the last four days and I’ll have another week to rehab it and get it feeling better to hopefully be back for Indianapolis. Right now, the main concern is to get my shoulder better and come back strong and be back on the podium and going after race-wins.”
The Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing Team will head to Indianapolis next Saturday, March 24, for Round 12 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium.
