...

Brian Swink was a successful minicycle rider who rose to almost instant fame when he signed to join Mitch Payton’s Peak Honda team in 1991. Brian had raced four 125 Nationals the year before, making the top 10 in three of the four. Once paired with Peak teammates Jeremy McGrath, Steve Lamson and Jeromy Buehl, the four Pro Circuit riders cut a swath across the 125 Supercross and 125 Nationals scenes with their matching uniforms and iconic blue Honda CR125s. In fact, Brian won his first race on the Peak Honda at the first 125 East race of the 1991 season in Orlando. In 1991 Brian would win five times and clinch the AMA 125 East Supercross Championship with teammate Jeromy Buehl second overall. Meanwhile, Jeremy McGrath won the 125 West with Steve Lamson third overall. Brian also won his one and only AMA 125 outdoor National for Team Peak at Mt. Morris in 1991.

For 1992 Brian Swink moved to Team Suzuki and won seven 125 East races and his second AMA 125 East title. But, the “Swinkster” would never win again. He stayed at Team Suzuki through 1994 in the 250 class before moving to the Honda of Troy team for two more seasons. His last race was at Steel City in 1997 on a Kawasaki. His Pro career lasted seven years from his first to last race, but he made an indelible mark in those first two glorious years.
