Inside Line Connect invited us to Cahuilla Creek MX for the Southern California-based company’s annual media camp. One of Inside Line Connect’s specialties is getting exposure for the moto industry brands it represents. The media camp, which is organized by Jason “Hapa” McCune, allows editors to get some one-on-one time in a “speed dating” type of format with the companies Inside Line Connect works with, one of which is Rekluse.
Rekluse is an aftermarket clutch company based in Boise, Idaho. The brand became well known for its auto clutches a number of years ago as several top racers used them to help prevent their engine from stalling in the notoriously tight confines of AMA EnduroCross tracks.
In addition to being the go-to choice for riders who want an auto clutch, Rekluse has gained traction with its manual clutches. Rekluse-sponsored riders swept all three 2018 AMA Supercross championships with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson capturing the 450SX title, Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Aaron Plessinger winning the Western Regional 250SX championship, and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Zach Osborne clinching the Eastern Regional 250SX championship. To top it off, Plessinger also won the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250 class championship with his Rekluse clutch-equipped Yamaha YZ250F.
Rekluse’s flagship auto clutch is the RadiusCX featuring the company’s TorqDrive friction disk technology combined with its EXP and Core technology, all of which are designed to provide exceptional hookup, lever feel, and durability. Rekluse’s top-of-the-line manual clutch is the Core Manual TorqDrive; the TorqDrive technology allows more disks in less space, up to four additional frictions disks than stock. More frictions allow for more torque capacity, which is intended to “unlock” the full power of the engine without the need to add stiffer pressure-plate springs.
Rekluse also offers clutch accessories such as its Manual Slave Cylinder. The billet aluminum part is a direct bolt-on replacement product designed to improve clutch modulation and increase the hydraulic system’s durability. It was developed with input from the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team and is designed to be used with OEM or aftermarket manual clutch systems.
