KTM 790 Adventure Concept Bike

One of EICMA’s most anticipated bikes was just unveiled, though sadly as a concept instead of a production model. Feast your eyes on the KTM 790 Adventure concept, but that’s all you’ll be able to do as it won’t see dealerships for another year.

What we do know is that it will use the same or a modified version of the 790cc parallel twin developed for the 790 Duke which, in streetfighter trim, produces 103 hp and 63 pound-feet of torque. Initial estimates put curb weight around 430 to 440 pounds.

Here's a link to a video of the KTM unveil, set to start playing when it showed a video of Chris Birch shredding the 790 Adventure off-road:

The midsize adventure segment is about to be one of the hottest in the motorcycle space. The Honda Africa Twin proved that bigger isn’t better, and we’ve seen both KTM and Yamaha tease midsize options that look incredibly potent. Triumph just released an updated Tiger 800 and BMW an updated F850GS, but both those come as modest updates rather than reworked bikes poised to make a huge impact.

No matter how much we hoped 2018 would be the year of the midsize adventure bike, it looks like those of us waiting will have to wait a bit longer.
