Andes Pacifico 2019 - Pinkbike

As a week's worth of high-Andean dust was washed off in the Pacific Ocean, Pedro Burns and Florencia Espineira emerged as the winners of the Andes Pacifico stage race. We featured their bikes at the start of the week but after 16 stages of brutal racing, they are looking a bit more battered and bruised now. It's a tale of two Slashes here with one size small, one size large and one shiny and new, one still carrying a year's worth of abuse from EWS duties. Let's get into the details of the two winning bikes from the Andes Pacifico.

Florencia Espineira

Florencia's bike is fairly beaten up and still has all the stickers from the EWS races she attended last summer on the fork, frame and wheels. This means none of those parts have been changed for the previous EWS season, the current Chilean season or the Andes Pacifico and they are still going.
A Sram GX drive train does the job just fine for Florencia.

Fox front and rear on the Slash for Florencia.

Florencia Espineira rocks a nearly level brake setup.

Florencia runs Magura brakes and Galfer rotors.

Pedro Burns

There was nothing electric on Pedro's Sram XO drivetrain, in fact only Jerome Clementz was running AXS this week.

RockShox on suspension duties for Pedro.
