It’s no fluke. Martin Maes is the real deal and he’s picking up right where he left off last year. He took the opening round of the EWS in Rotorua and he took the top spot again in Tasmania. It is inspiring to see the development of a young phenom who’s always aged up, competing against older kids, developing faster than his peers. Now, he’s in his element and his body has matured to provide a platform for all the skill that he’s learned throughout the years.

It is inspiring indeed to see the rise of a great competitor, not just good at one aspect of the sport but all the key areas. Here are the results for the first EWS race of 2019.

And how about following it up with a 17-second win in Tasmania? There’s going to be a bit of retooling and strategizing among the competition to design a game plan to beat Martin Maes this year.
