Charlie Hatton bids farewell to Intense Factory Racing UK - Dirt
There’s no official news yet on who it may be, although we know there are spaces on Trek Factory Racing and Devinci, but we’re sure it’s gong to be a deserved place on a major factory team.
Charlie ended the season as BDS overall Champion, finished second at the British National Champs and picked up three World Cup top 20s – all as a first year Elite.
Char said: “Intense Racing UK gave me a great opportunity, racing on the best products out there and working with the passionate Saddleback staff. The support at races was spot on, mechanic Andy Lund was faultless on the tools and has a good race head. This platform gave me the confidence and belief to go flat out!
“I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone involved for an awesome year and I wish the team all the best in future.”
Are Intense Racing UK gutted? Not at all. In fact, they’re delighted. The team was set up by Saddleback Uk to develop UK riders and they’ve clearly got it spot on with Hatton.
Declan Deehan, marketing manager, said: “Intense Racing UK was set up in 2017 as a platform to prepare racers for the next level of competition. Charlie has been the perfect example of that ethos in our first year. Thanks to the opportunities afforded by our support and that of our sponsors – Charlie’s hard work has brought in some very well-deserved results. Watching that happen has been incredible for us. He has a bright future in the sport and we wish him all the best as he progresses to the top of the DH world – he’s one to watch for sure.
“The Saddleback team would like to wish Charlie the best of luck for the future and thank him for all his hard work. Thanks are also due to all the sponsors involved in the programme, who have helped greatly in giving all our riders the platform to perform at their best.
We’re predicting big things for Hatton in future and hopefully he’s found himself a team who can continue to develop his talent. More news coming soon.
