25 years of World Cup racing - Steve Peat - Dirt

1
...

No man had more photos in, or covers of, Dirt than him and his influence is still writ large over downhill racing and the British mountain biking scene. 17 World Cup wins and the one special World Championship are the key stats of the man’s career but Peaty transcends all of this.

Peaty left the racers of the early to mid noughties in his wake (and often led the parties too) then fostered the British talent that continues to take the mountain bike world by storm to this day including Josh Bryceland and Brendan Fairclough.

Racing from the early 90s until the end of 2016 this is a racer who sticks with the sport because he loves it to his core – a true talisman.

Charismatic, a whole load of trouble and fun. One of the most liked equally, as any racer on the planet will tell you, one of the most feared.
